I found this doll at Salmagundi West in Gastown in 2011.

The quote “de ver la vida abierta” means at seeing life opened. Taken from Frida Kahlo’s Painting: The Bride Frightened at Seeing Life Opened, 1943.

The doll continues to be inspiring.  Her next transformation stage happened yesterday.  She finally got arms.

And on Sunday I purchased a lovely vintage child’s slip in FORT LANGLEY.
