Scarf owl, handmade buttons, Knit & Stitch Shoppe! #arttherapy #Vancouver

Comments 9 Standard

Yesterday I stopped in to the heaven-on-earth Knit & Stitch Shoppe in West Vancouver BC for some art therapy for one!  Just being in the space lifts the spirit and makes the creative juices flow!  I took my time soaking in the colors and anticipating what creations would result from the visit.

I bought 6 expensive handmade ceramic buttons and a large skein of "LANG Yarn" 50% new wool, 50% acrylic, made in ITALY

The wool will be used to make hats for my sock monkeys and nest-bags for my sock birds.  The buttons inspired me to make owls.  The owl below is made from a 100% New Wool Stewart Royal vintage tartan scarf (made in Scotland).

Holding this owl in your hand reminds you of WHOOOOO is most important– YOU. In these busy times, we forget to take care of ourselves. The simplest thing such as pausing to look after “ME” is often overlooked. This owl in the hand looks back at you with warmth and love.

To see my ETSY shop go to POST STREET SOCK CREATIONS!

  3. Hi….Thanks for using my buttons. They look great on your critters. I’ve been making buttons on Pender Island now for 16 years. The ones you are using for eyes are called “Bubble Gum Buttons” ~ they come in 6 sizes and 60 colors. Keep having artistic fun!…bye for now, Wendy
